For almost 20 years, I've had all kinds of roles - running an organization, leading teams, and being a solo contributor. Regardless of my role, I was sought out by colleagues for my support, advocacy, and perspective. 

Connecting with a diverse array of people, was my favorite part of being in a large organization. I loved hearing stories, giving (and receiving) guidance, working to consider other futures, speaking with loving candor, and reminding people that they are amazing, powerful, and capable. It's what ultimately led me to coaching.
